The Speaker, HomaBay County Citizens Association – Bunge La Wenye Nchi – Mr. Walter Opiyo accompanied by Mr. Peter Ouma Muga, Bunge La Wenye Nchi , Political Advisor, broke the news earlier today after serving the President with the notice of petition to suspend the HomaBay County Government.
Terming the initiative “a sincere grass-root borne discomfort with the Awiti Administration,” Mr. Opiyo described the situation in HomaBay County as deplorable. “ Our leadership has let us down very badly, leaving us no option, but to commenced the process of returning the power to the people as provided for in the constitution.” He added.
Surely, it is immoral to condem an entire generation by allowing this administration to continue any longer.
Mr. Ouma Muga added “we need to urgently restore sanity to a County rapidly collapsing under the weight of – incomplete and non-existent projects, unmitigated nepotism, a large unmotivated workforce, blatant disregard for regulation by the pockets of suspiciously wealthy public servants, a wrangling legislature, and an Executive absent for 6 months and more with no explanation forthcoming. Surely, it is immoral to condem an entire generation by allowing this administration to continue.”
